Gabion Hexagonal Mesh
Gabions, gabion baskets are wire mesh or containers made of hexagonal wire netting through woven.
Wire diameter depends on the mesh size, for hexagonal wire netting zinc coated, the wire diameter ranges from 2.0mm to 4.0mm.
For PVC coated, the diameter ranges from 3.0mm to 4.0mm. The selvage wire is thicker than the body wire.
Filled with rock to prevent soil erosion and to retain soil particles, reduce water velocities and re-capture river bed sediment in streams.
Suitable for landslide control in mountainous countries and in areas with bad ground conditions.
To be rectangular baskets fabricated from a hexagonal mesh of heavily galvanized steel wire.
The baskets are filled with rock and stacked atop one another to form a gravity-type wall.
Gabions depend mainly on the interlocking of the individual stones and rocks within the wire mesh
for internal stability, and their mass or weight to resist hydraulic and earth forces.
